RADA receives order for navigation system

NETANYA, Israel, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Israel's RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. reports its inertial navigation system has been picked for a SAR development program.

The contract for RADA's Fiber-Optic, Gyro-based Embedded GPS-INS was given by an undisclosed European radar provider.

RADA said its product, when integrated into the company's Synthetic Aperture Radar, will give the SAR enhanced capabilities and performance.

The SAR program, which will be carried out in 2012-13, introduces future business potential to RADA once the SAR program is transferred into production phase.

"We are extremely pleased that a leading SAR provider has put his trust in RADA's INS," RADA Chief Executive Officer Zvika Alon said. "Our inertial navigation systems product line is maturing and gradually becoming a significant growth engine for the coming years.

"Adding a leading European customer to our customer base is a strategic move in RADA's plans for future expansion."

RADA Electronic Industries Ltd. specializes in the development, production and sales of data recording and management systems, ground debriefing stations, head-up display cameras and inertial navigation systems for air and land applications.
