"We look forward to partnering with the Air Force to meet the U.S. government's goal of securely implementing Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) by 2014," said Salient's cybersecurity leader Lisa Donnan.

Our Assure6 intrusion prevention system will help mitigate the vulnerabilities of implementing IPv6 and ultimately protect mission critical networks."

The DISA ENCORE II contract award was made as part of the Warfighter Rapid Acquisition Program. Salient will work to protect the Air Force from threats generated by the requirements of legacy networks and devices to support the future IPv6 standard.

Assure6 is a deep packet inspection security protection system being deployed in multiple Department of Defense agencies.

"It takes a new breed of industry partner to help government agencies address the risks and opportunities of an abruptly changing world," Salient Chief Operating Officer Bill Parker said.

"Salient's cybersecurity technology and experienced security professionals look forward to working with the Air Force to help them address the challenges of today and tomorrow."
