"This was an extremely competitive tender involving several strong international companies," said Eldar Hauge, managing director of Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems in Norway. "Winning this contract confirms our position as the leading provider of surface movement systems in the Gulf region.

"The collaboration with Indra will result in a world-class air traffic management system at the international airports in Oman."

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems will supply and install NOVA 9000 A-SMGCS, including multi-lateration systems being supplied by teammate ERA. Indra Sistemas will supply the surface movement radars, which will be integrated into the NOVA 9000 A-SMGCS.

The NOVA 9000 A-SMGCS will be installed at Oman's Muscat International (Seeb) and Salalah International airports. The installation of the A-SMGCS will take place in parallel with the major facility upgrades being carried out at these and six other regional airports throughout Oman.
