NIFV has been utilizing the ADMS system for 10 years, with more than 20 ADMS-COMMAND systems currently in use across the country. It is used for training and research and is also available to other emergency management organizations.

The company said the upgraded system includes high-fidelity incident locations -- including a city, residential area, industrial area, port, and airport -- to enable the NIFV to create unlimited exercises. A diverse library of objects has been defined for incorporation within these locations, including crowds, victims, vehicles, aircraft, fire, HAZMAT leaks, fencing and debris fields.

"This is the next generation ADMS that we and our Dutch clients have been looking for," said Eric Didderen, senior trainer and ADMS project manager at NIFV. "The scenario generating tools will allow us to create any scenario needed, and will increase the instructional staff's control over the development of the exercise.

"Our objective at NIFV is to prepare responders and incident commanders for live exercises, and ultimately real world events. ADMS helps us do that."
