EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 3 (UPI) -- Wyle, the high-tech U.S. aerospace engineering company, is working with Northrop Grumman for two U.S. Air Force task orders for A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft.

Under the two task orders, valued at nearly $2 million, Wyle will perform critical systems component analysis.

The company said the first task order is designed to ensure that the A-10's operational safety, suitability and effectiveness program is achieved and maintained by performing component analysis of critical systems and providing solutions for increased system reliability, safety, aircraft availability and reducing maintenance requirements and man-hours.

Under the second, called the Critical Safety Item Technical Deficiency Improvement activity, Wyle and its team will identify the engineering and technical data tasks required to correct critical safety item technical and acquisition data deficiencies.

"Wyle is very pleased to have the opportunity to team with Northrop Grumman and (subcontractor) Rowan Catalyst," said Bert Johnston, vice president and general manager of Wyle's Aerospace Group technology and test division. "We're ready to assist the A-10 community and the U.S. Air Force with working these two critical tasks."
