Cyber-, insider threats to be examined

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Cyber- and insider threats to the U.S. industrial base and critical infrastructure will be the focus of a national security symposium in March.

The symposium to be convened in Washington is called Countering Cyber Challenges to the Industrial Base, and is an invitation-only apolitical event sponsored by CACI International Inc., the U.S. Naval Institute and the Center for Security Policy.

Keynote speakers include former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John R. Bolton, former Virginia Gov. James S. Gilmore III and Frances Townsend, chairwoman of the board of directors of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and former homeland security adviser to President George W. Bush.

Panelists include leaders and experts from government, industry and academia, with topics ranging from industry concerns to the view from Capitol Hill.

The symposium is part of a series on asymmetric threats to the country and ways to counter such threats.

The symposium will be March 1 at the Carnegie Institution for Science.
