Navy contracts AMSEC for C4I support

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- A U.S. industry team led by Northrop Grumman has received a U.S. Navy installation support contract for East and West Coast ship- and shore-based C4I systems.

The award to Northrop's AMSEC LLC subsidiary was given by the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. The command, control, communications, computers and intelligence award has a potential value of $794 million.

It is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle. If all options are exercised, total value could be $1.3 billion.

"This contract provides AMSEC the opportunity to provide SPAWAR with a wide-range of expertise in support of their critical mission," said Harris Leonard, vice president of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and president of AMSEC LLC. "We look forward to providing quality installation products and services which will enable our customer to meet existing and future afloat and shore mission objectives."

AMSEC's portion of the work will be performed in South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, California and elsewhere.
