FBI orders new crime reporting system

FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has ordered a modernized Uniform Crime Reporting system from a unit of Virginia's SRA International.

Under the terms of the UCR, SRA's Platinum Solutions business will develop and implement a flexible, scalable UCR system that will improve system and process performance to enhance technical capabilities for providing offense information, to reduce turnaround time for publications and special requests for information and to reduce operational costs.

"We are honored to support the FBI in their mission to generate a reliable set of criminal statistics for use in law enforcement administration, operation and management," said SRA Vice President Adam Rossi. "UCR is a long-standing national program and SRA Platinum Solutions is committed to delivering the next generation replacement."

SRA in November completed the acquisition of Platinum Solutions, an award-winning leader in systems integration and mission-critical enterprise software development. Its software helps government customers analyze terrorist activities, arrest violent criminals and improve the safety of prescription drugs.
