URS gives Navy engineering support

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- URS Corp. of California will provide technical and programming support to the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Va., under a $47 million award.

The contract features a one-year base performance period and four one-year options, URS said.

"We are proud to have been selected to expand our technical support work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center and to be helping the Navy develop and evaluate new systems and technologies," said Randall A. Wotring, president, Federal Services, URS Corp.

Under the contract, URS will provide software engineering, analysis, research and development and testing and engineering support services for the Strategic and Weapon Control Systems Department at Dahlgren.

URS also will provide technical and management support for mission planning, weapons control, systems engineering and information assurance work at the facility, the company said.

URS Corp. is a provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world.
