OSHKOSH, Wis., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Oshkosh Defense is providing 800 additional protection kits for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles under a U.S. Army award.

Deliveries of the kits ordered by the Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command are to be completed this summer.

Oshkosh said the order has a ceiling price of $80 million.

"These protection kits are part of our ongoing work with the military to deliver exceptional M-ATV survivability against evolving threats on the modern battlefield," said Charlie Szews, Oshkosh Corp. president and chief executive officer. "The rapid production and delivery of these kits is the result of a close collaboration with our customer and our shared commitment to the warfighters.

"Oshkosh is dedicated to supporting those who serve with world-class protection and mobility solutions."

The M-ATV is produced with factory-installed armor and also can accept add-on armor and protection kits. The vehicles' modular design allows bolt-on armor to be installed or repaired in the field.
