Navistar Defense President Archie Massicotte said: "Since receiving our first contract in 2005 to support security and rebuilding efforts in Afghanistan, we have provided more than 21,000 medium tactical vehicles based on the 7000-MV platform in 13 different variants.

"Now, we've enhanced this family of vehicles by incorporating survivability and independent suspension technologies that are in the field on our MaxxPro MRAP vehicles."

Besides being deployed by the U.S. Department of Defense, Navistar MTVs are also in service Iraq, Afghanistan, Canada, Israel, Jordan and Taiwan. The new Navistar MTVs include automatic traction control, anti-lock brakes, self-diagnostics and advanced electronics systems.
