The value of the award was not disclosed.

The company said it has made extensive improvements over the past two years at the airport for U.S. military cargos operations that went above and beyond normal expectations and despite the firm, fixed-price contract framework.

Among the improvements were multimillion-dollar capital investments in contractor furnished equipment; upgrades to CAV airfield equipment for better night visibility; expansion and improvement of the on-site management team; numerous safety initiatives; and quality initiatives to improve the flow of equipment, cargo and aircraft in a difficult operational environment on a crowded ramp area.

In 2009, CAV handled more than 16,000 U.S. Air Force planes at airports around the world and managed more than 140,000 tons of cargo.
