Northrop Grumman showcasing UAS

LONDON, July 8 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman will highlight unmanned aircraft systems, defense electronics and performance-based logistics at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Its open-air static display area will feature a full-scale model of the Global Hawk high-altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft system and a full-sized model of the MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Unmanned Aircraft System, the company said in a news release distributed from London.

Fire Scout, a multi-role UAS, is designed to carry a variety of payloads for situation awareness and targeting support.

The company's Italian subsidiary will also showcase state-of-the-art fiber-optic navigation systems, including the LISA-200, the Navex family of attitude heading reference systems and LN 251 / LN 270 high-accuracy inertial navigation systems as well as the new Navinex inertial navigation system.

The company said aircraft using Northrop Grumman Italia systems include the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The Farnborough International Airshow, a premier defense industry event, is July 19-25 in England.
