Norsat selected to support network tech

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 5 (UPI) -- Norsat International Inc. has been selected by a European defense agency to deliver its network solutions to support mission critical communications.

Canada-based Norsat announced it received a network service award from an undisclosed Europe military. Under the $1.7 million Norsat will provide support for its dual-band SigmaLink flyaway technologies.

Company officials say the military has increased its use of Norsat's SigmaLink systems to support communications requirements for units on remote operations.

"To support those remote operations, Norsat has recently installed several antennas from our OmegaLink line for their hub operation out in the field," Amiee Chan, Norsat president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"We believe our extensive consultation, training and responsive customer support makes Norsat the best choice as a trusted agent for this military's communications requirements."
