Army contracts NG for cybersecurity

RESTON, Va., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Northrop Grumman Corp. to provide the 1st Information Operations Command at Fort Belvoir in Virginia with cybersecurity support.

U.S. company Northrop Grumman received the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide the 1st Information Operations Command with full-spectrum information operations and computer networks operations support.

The $430 million contract, awarded by the Army Intelligence and Security Command, includes support for the 1st Information Operations Command's regional Computer Emergency Response Teams.

"Secure and efficient network operations are critical in today's cyber warfare environment," Dan Allen, Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector vice president and general manager of the Intelligence Systems Division, said in a statement.

"We are pleased to continue working this vital effort for the Army and applying our leading-edge cybersecurity and information operations expertise to help the warfighter assure mission success."
