Karzai arrives amid worsening security

WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who faces a deteriorating security situation at home, arrives in Washington next week for talks with President George W. Bush. Karzai came to power in December 2001 after U.S. forces captured the Afghan capital Kabul, forcing the former Taliban rulers to flee.
