GENEVA, Switzerland, April 5 (UPI) -- Apple can't sell its new watch in Switzerland yet, because a company named Leonard Timepieces has a trademark on "Apple."

The issue was first reported by a Swiss publication called Business Montres & Joaillerie and a broadcaster called RTS. RTS published the 1985 trademark showing that Leonard Timepieces owns the trademark on a logo of an apple with the word "APPLE" on it.

The trademark expires on Dec. 5, 2015, so the company will be able to sell watches in Switzerland after that date.

The watch will be available in nine countries on April 24. The Apple Watch ranges in price from $349 to $10,000.
