FRANKLIN, Tenn., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Nissan issued a recall Tuesday for 470,000 vehicles worldwide for possible fuel leaks.

The announcement was made by the automaker on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website and includes 133,592 vehicles in the United States.

The recall covers four Infiniti models -- the 2012-13 M56 and QX56 and the 2014-15 QX70 and QX80. About 105,000 2012-14 Nissan Jukes were also included in the recall.

"The fuel pressure sensors may not have been sufficiently tightened during production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen with vehicle usage and cause a fuel leak," Nissan said of the problem.

"A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a vehicle fire," the report added.

Steve Yaeger, a spokesman for Nissan, told The New York Times in an email there have been no reports of fires in these vehicles.

Nissan said it would begin notifying owners of the vehicles of the problem on or before Jan. 26 and the fuel pressure sensors will be replaced free of charge.

Tuesday's announcement is considered an expansion of a recall in 2012.
