The voice commands on the Microsoft Xbox One commercial seem to be switching on only some consoles and not others.

REDMOND, Wash., June 13 (UPI) -- A Microsoft commercial featuring Aaron Paul showcasing the Xbox's voice commands seems to be switching on certain consoles with the "Xbox on" command.

The Breaking Bad star is featured in the new Microsoft commercial, which has him saying "Xbox on" at the start of the commercial. Microsoft prides itself on a highly sensitive microphone, which can pick up voice commands from across the room, that seems to be responding to Paul's voice command by switching on the console in users' homes.

After using the "Xbox on" command, Paul uses other voice commands in the commercial that are typically used to launch games, bring up the built-in Xbox store, and buy digital goods, but none of these commands seem to be affecting users' Kinects in real life.

It is unclear if Microsoft intended to have Paul intentionally control users' consoles or if it was just a simple mistake on their part.

Ironically, Kinects are responding to the part of the commercial that promotes Microsoft's unbundling of the Kinect from the Xbox One. The console by itself will now cost $400 as compared to the $500 users had to pay for the console and the Kinect together.

When the Xbox One was launched year, Microsoft conveyed that the Kinect was an integral part of the Xbox experience, but after lagging behind Sony's Playstation 4, the console maker decided to start selling the device minus the Kinect, bringing it closer to the cost of the PS4.
