AmEx and Uber team up for loyalty rewards program

The rewards program is currently only available for iPhone users in the U.S.

NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) -- American Express and ride-sharing service Uber have teamed up to provide a loyalty program through the credit card's membership rewards.

AmEx cardholders enrolled in the company's rewards program can now use their credit card points to pay for Uber rides or earn double the amount of points when they pay for rides using their AmEx. The Uber receipt will show how many points were redeemed or earned at the end of the ride.

The rewards program is currently only available for iPhone users in the U.S.

Uber is currently a private company, but has been valued by investors at $18.2 billion.
