BENTONVILLE, Ark., March 18 (UPI) -- Walmart, based in Arkansas, announced a new video game trade-in program to give customers store credit for their working games.
The chain said the program, which begins March 26, will allow customers to bring in their video games with their original packaging in exchange for credit toward purchases at Walmart and Sam's Club stores and websites.
The traded-in games will be refurbished and sold as "Certified Pre-Owned" for discounted prices.
"Gaming continues to be an important business for us and we're actively taking aim at the $2 billion pre-owned video game opportunity," said Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising and marketing officer for Walmart. "When we disrupt markets and compete, our customer wins. They'll save money on video games and have the flexibility to spend it however they want."
