WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Importer Rollerblade USA is recalling 11,800 pairs of roller skates due to a problem that can cause the boot to separate from the frame, regulators said.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday the West Lebanon, N.H., importer is recalling its Tempest Inline Skates due to a potential fall hazard.

The skates under recall are considered high performance or racing skates. They were sold in a variety of colors, but are generally black and white with a separate color for highlights, including red, yellow, orange, purple and green.

They were imported from Thailand and sold nationwide from December 2010 through January 2014 for $350 to $450.

Consumers were advised to stop using the skates and contact Rollerblade USA for a free inspection and replacement if the mounting holes on the skates are misaligned.

Consumers can call 800-232-7655 for information.
