Nissan recalls 13,535 Frontiers

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Nissan North American Inc., said it would recall 13,535 Frontier cars from model years 2012 -14 due to incorrectly installed circuit breakers, regulators said.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall involves Frontier vehicles made from Nov. 28, 2012, through Dec. 17, 2013.

The incorrectly installed circuit breakers may have resulted in a wire harness fading in the wrong direction, which could allow it to short out by making contact with a metal bolt located near the harness.

To create a short, the bolt would first have to wear through the protective covering of the harness, but the potential for it to do so prompted the recall, the NHTSA said.

The recall is to begin in early March.
