WASHINGTON, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Playtex Products of Dover, Del., is recalling 1.4 million pacifier holding clips due to the possibility of a part choking a child, regulators said Wednesday.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the pacifier clips are used to hold a pacifier when clipped to a carry bag, a stroller, a diaper bag or other items.
The clips are green and are decorated with a monkey figure, a pink flower and a tow truck.
The name Playtex appears on a logo that slides up and down as a method of adjusting the clip.
The commission said Playtex has received numerous reports of the clips breaking. Regulators are concerned that a young child could put a broken part in his or her mouth, which could increase the risk of choking.
The clips were sold nationwide from July 2010 through October 2013 for about $3.
Consumers were advised to take the pacifier holders away from infants and contact Playtex for instructions on how to return the product for a refund.
Consumers can call 888-220-2075 for information.
