It's a short week for U.S. economic reports

NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- It is a holiday-shortened week for U.S. economic reports, but not so for reports from Asia, Canada and Europe.

While Americans carve turkeys Thursday and shop on Friday, look to some other countries for investment guidance. Until then, it will be a busy week for economic reports, especially Wednesday.

Monday -- The National Association of Realtors releases pending-home-sale numbers and the Dallas Federal Reserve releases a monthly report on Texas manufacturing for November.

Tuesday -- The Department of Commerce releases residential home construction data focused on housing starts; Standard & Poor's releases home prices figures for September; and the Richmond Fed reports on manufacturing in the Central Atlantic region.

Wednesday -- The Labor Department is scheduled to release weekly jobless claim numbers a day early; , the Office of National Statistics in Britain is set to release third-quarter gross domestic product figures; the U.S. Commerce Department releases October's durable goods figures; the MNI Deutche Borse report on mid-West manufacturing is due; the Conference Board's October report on the U.S. Leading Economic Index is also due.

Thanksgiving Day -- Eurostat is set to release a consumer confidence report and Statistics Canada is to release October's industrial production report.

Friday -- Eurostat is scheduled to release the eurozone's consumer price index for October; StatsCan releases its gross domestic product estimate for September.
