Crude oil inventories rise in week

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. crude oil inventories rose for the seventh consecutive week in the week ending Friday, the Energy Information Administration said Thursday.

Crude oil stockpiles added 2.6 million barrels to reach 388.1 million, as inventories held above the upper inventory range for this time of year, the agency said.

EIA said supplies of motor grade gasoline fell by 800,000 barrels to 209.2 million barrels and are near the top of the average range for this time of year.

Supplies of distillate fuels, which include home heating oil, fell by 500,000 barrels to 117.3 million and remain near the lower limit of the average range for this time of year.

The national average retail price of regular unleaded gasoline fell in the week, dropping by 7.1 cents to $3.194 per gallon. The price is 25.5 cents per gallon below the price in the same week of 2012, the EIA said.
