Crude oil settles slightly

NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices for October delivery reclaimed $108 per barrel Tuesday, as investors remained focused on Syria.

The Obama administration is continuing to push for a military intervention in response to the Syrian government's alleged use of chemical weapons on its own citizens.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for October delivery slid early, but turned around to add 87 cents on the day to $108.52 per barrel.

Reformulated blendstock gasoline shed 2.51 cents to $2.865 per gallon. Home heating oil added 6 cents to reach $3.1426 per gallon.

Natural gas gained 8.6 cents to $3.667 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline was $3.591 per gallon, down from Sunday's $3.594, the AAA Fuel Gauge report said.
