Crude oil tops $96

NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices added $1.38 to reach $96.88 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange Thursday.

The Energy Information Administration said crude oil inventories were unchanged in the week, although supplies, at 394.1 million barrels, remain historically high.

On Thursday, reformulated blendstock gasoline rose to $2.7184 per gallon, up 0.0006 cents. Home heating oil added 2.72 cents to reach $2.8823 per gallon.

Natural gas lost 14.9 cents to $3.588 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline was $3.528, down from Wednesday's $3.541, the AAA Fuel Gauge report said.
