LOS ANGELES, May 25 (UPI) -- A hamburger brand known for its size and its status among celebrities, Fatburger, is about to go national, said the company, which was started in California.
The Fatburger brand boasts of its one-third pound patties and its popularity among the denizens of Hollywood, where the company got its start in 1952.
The company said Saturday it has secured a contract with Walmart and will appear in more than 3,000 stores in June.
"Launching at Walmart marks the first time our classic burgers will be available to families across America, bringing Fatburger to a whole new generation of customers as well as offering customers who grew up with the brand a new way to enjoy their favorite burger," Fatburger Chief Executive Officer Andy Wiederhorn said in a statement.
