Whole Foods gets its vegan and non-vegan salads switched

NEW YORK, May 10 (UPI) -- The upmarket natural foods chain Whole Foods recalled real and fake chicken salad in the New York area and elsewhere in the northeast because of a label mixup.

The company said labels got switched between curried chicken salad and vegan "chicken" curried salad, the news channel VH1 reported. The mislabeled salads were sold at 15 stores, including two in New York City and four in North Jersey.

Anyone who bought a mislabeled salad can return it for a refund, Whole Foods said.

There were no reports of anyone getting sick. The regular chicken salad contains egg in addition to chicken while the vegan salad contains soy.
