WASHINGTON, April 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 33,000 pairs of infant socks due to bows and flowers that pose a choking hazard.

The watchdog agency said importer Trumpette Inc., of Sacramento is recalling "Aubrees" and "Heart" baby socks, which have bows and flowers that can detach, posing a possible choking hazard.

The socks were sold in sizes zero to 12 months.

"Aubrees" socks have flowers attached to the toes while "Hearts" socks have heart patterns and bows attached to the toes.

Consumers were advised to remove the flowers and bows from the socks or return them to Trumpette for a full refund or a store credit.

The socks were sold nationwide for about $15 from December 2012 through February 2013.

Consumers can call 877-938-7265 for more information.
