TUNIS, Tunisia, March 18 (UPI) -- A union leader in Tunisia said taxi drivers would be on strike Monday to protest a 63 cent per liter increase in fuel prices.
The jump in fuel costs began March 5. The government said on Feb. 4 that prices would go up, Tunisia Live reported.

The strike was scheduled to last from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Moez Sallemi, the president of the National Chamber of Taxi Drivers, called on the government to revoke the price hike, Tunisia Live reported.
