OTTAWA, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Canadian wholesalers halted two months of sales declines in August, as figures rose 0.5 percent to $49.7 billion, Statistics Canada reported Thursday.
Four out of seven sectors, representing 56 percent of total sales, reported increases, led by the food, beverage and tobacco sector, the report said. In that group, sales in August were up 2.3 percent to $9.5 billion.
