CHICAGO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade as the dollar fell in Asia and was mixed in Europe.
Corn was off 6 to up 1 1/4, soybeans were off 13 3/4 to off 17 1/2, wheat was off 5 3/4 to off 8 1/4 and oats were up 3/4 to up 4.
Corn futures slid with demand weak and the weather forecast favorable for a good week of harvesting. Wheat futures closed lower with Egypt announcing a 235,000 metric ton purchase from European sources. Conditions in soybean fields are improving due to recent rains, although there are reports coming in of low pod counts due to this summer's drought.

Corn: Sep 7.82 1.4 up 1 1/4, Dec 7.77 3/4 off 5 1/2, Mar 7.81 1/4 off 6, May 7.78 1/4 off 6.
Soybeans: Sep 16.96 1/2 off 16 1/2, Nov 17.01 1/2 off 17 1/4, Jan 17.00 3/4 off 17 1/2, Mar 16.48 3 off 13 3/4.
Wheat: Sep 8.60 off 8 1/4, Dec 8.83 3/4 off 6, Mar 8.95 3/4 off 5 3/4, May 8.95 off 6 1/4.
Oats: Sep 3.83 1/2 up 4, Dec 3.87 1/2 up 1, Mar 3.89 3/4 up 3/4, May 3.90 up 3/4.
