CHICAGO, May 4 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Friday with traders focused on an early planting season helped in the Corn Belt by beneficial rains.
Corn was off 5 1/4 to up 11 1/2, soybeans were off 1 3/4 to up 6 1/4, wheat was off 4 1/2 to off 8 3/4 and oats were off 4 1/2 to off 6.
The early growing season continues to put pressure on corn prices, especially with this week's beneficial rains. Wheat prices shed Thursday's gains with the dollar index up 0.38 percent.
