Kraft recalls 3,000 cases of peanuts

NORTHFIELD, Ill., April 7 (UPI) -- U.S. food company Kraft Foods said it is recalling 3,000 cases of Planters Cocktail peanuts, just to be on the safe side.

The company said the peanuts, in 12-ounce canisters, may have come into contact with water that was not cleared for food production purposes, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

Stores and consumers should look for canisters of peanuts processed in Suffolk, Va., which have the UPC code of 2900007212. They have expiration dates of Jan 9, 2014.
