Land of Nod bed frames recalled

WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Morton Grove, Ill., children's furniture company The Land of Nod is recalling 1,600 bed frames due to an entrapment hazard, U.S. regulators said.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said a child can become trapped between the footboard's top rail and the mattress of the Blake model bed frames, which were sold in full and twin sizes in either a blond stain or painted white.

"The Land of Nod" and "Blake" are printed on a bar code sticker affixed to the headboard.

They were sold exclusively at The Land of Nod stores and through catalog and Web site sales from September 2009 through October 2011 for about $600 for the twin size and $700 for full size.

Consumers were advised to immediately stop using the recalled footboard and contact The Land of Nod for a replacement footboard with a closed-gap design.

Consumers can call 800-933-9904 for information.
