Madeline bed canopy recalled

WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of 7,700 bed canopies imported from Vietnam by Pottery Barn Kids of San Francisco.

The firm has received numerous reports of the top rails of the canopy bed coming apart, threatening anyone below with injury.

The canopies are part of the Madeline Bedroom Collection. They are made of four wooden posts that connect to the footboard and headboard. They were sold in twin, full and queen sizes in white, antique white and several shades of green.

The canopies were sold nationwide from December 2003 through August 2011 for $150 to $300.

Consumers were advised to stop using the beds and contact Pottery Barn kids for a free repair.
