WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Joss rock climbing cam units due to a fall hazard.
The Joss rock climbing cams were imported from Italy and sold exclusively by Sierra Trading Post of Cheyenne, Wyo., from August 2003 through March 2006 for between $3 and $32.
The cams can fail unexpectedly after being set, the commission said in a statement.
The cams are mechanical devices set in rock cracks to support a climber.
The cams involved in the recall have a "Cassin" logo printed on a tag attached to the sling that carries the cams. The Sierra Trading Post item numbers #69277 and #69278 can be found on the original packaging label or order invoice.
Consumers were advised to stop using the product and return it to Sierra Trading Post for a full refund.
Consumers can call 800-713-4534 for information.
