Oil supplies fall in week

WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. crude oil inventories fell by 1.4 million barrels in the week ending Friday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said.

Crude oil inventories fell to 338.1 million barrels in the latest report.

Supplies remain in the upper limit for the average range for this time of year, the agency said.

Supplies of distillate fuels, which includes home heating oil, fell by 6 million barrels in the week to 135.9 million barrels and are now in the lower limit of the average range for this time of year, the EIA said.

Gasoline inventories fell by 2.1 million barrels to 204.2 million barrels and are in the middle of the average range for this time of year.

Inventories of finished gasoline and blending component supplies both declined in the week, the agency said.

The EIA said the national average price of regular gasoline fell by 2.8 cent in the week to $3.424 per gallon on Nov. 7, which put the price of gasoline 55.9 cents above the price during the same week of 2010.
