WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- British manufacturer Lifemarque is recalling about 50 baby carriers sold in the United States and Canada with missing bolts, regulators said.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said some of the baby backpacks, sold as LittleLife Discover Child Carriers, were sold without bolts that attach the carrier to a metal frame.

With bolts missing, the carrier is unstable, the commission said.

The carriers were made in Vietnam and sold at outdoor stores and online from January 2011 through July 2011 for about $200.

Consumers were advised to stop using the carriers with the missing bolts and contact Lifemarque for a free replacement product.

Consumers can call 877-922-5462 for information.
