Gold slips for second consecutive session

NEW YORK, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Gold prices lost $15.90 to close at $1,660.70 per troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange Tuesday.

Silver prices added 26 cents to finish the session at $32.08 an ounce.

West Texas Intermediate oil rose, adding $1.98 to reach $88.36 per barrel.

The euro rose to $1.3757 from Monday's $1.3737. Against the yen, the dollar rose to 76.86 yen from Monday's 76.83 ye

The British pound was $1.5704 from $1.5743 on Monday. The U.S. dollar was 7.7766 Hong Kong dollars from 7.7778 HKD on Monday.

The U.S. standard fell to 1.0151 Canadian dollars from 1.0236 Canadian dollars Friday. The Australian dollar was $1.0258 from $1.0155.
