WASHINGTON, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Producer Price Index for finished goods rose in July for the 12th month out of the past 13, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday.
Prices rose 0.2 percent for producers with food prices up 0.6 percent and energy prices down 0.6 percent. Excluding food and energy prices from the mix -- what is known as core prices -- put the price increase at 0.4 percent.

On a 12-month unadjusted basis, producer prices were up 7.2 percent in July.
