Pending home sales up slightly in June

WASHINGTON, July 28 (UPI) -- Pending U.S. home sales rose in June for the second consecutive month, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday.

The Pending Home Sales Index, measuring contracts that will likely close in August, rose 2.4 percent to 90.9, the trade group said.

Across the country, the index dropped 0.4 percent in the Northeast and 3.7 percent in the Midwest. In the South, the index rose 4.4 percent. In the West, the index rose 6.4 percent.
