WASHINGTON, May 25 (UPI) -- Dream on Me Inc. recalled about 22,000 drop-side cribs due to weak rail hardware that can result in an entrapment hazard, U.S. regulators said.

The Piscataway, N.J., company is recalling both full-size and portable cribs due to hardware that can fail, allowing the drop-sides to detach. A partial detachment can result in a child becoming trapped in the crib, while a full detachment can allow a child to fall out of the cribs, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement.

The cribs were imported from China and sold nationwide at Target and Walmart stores from January 2006 through December 2009 for about $200.

The full-size cribs involved in the recall include model numbers 613, 615, 616, 617, 619, 628 and 639. The portable crib model numbers include 621, 625 and 627.

Consumers were advised to stop using the cribs and contact Dream on Me for free kits that will immobilize the drop sides. Consumers with portable cribs can receive a free replacement crib.

Consumers can call 877-201-4317 for information.
