WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Clothing designer James Perse is recalling 6,700 men's and women's jackets that fail to meet U.S. flammability standards, a federal watchdog agency said.
The jackets, imported from China by New Live of Los Angeles, pose a fire hazard to consumers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The jackets are lined with Sherpa fleece. The men's garment involved in the recall is style number MV2156, a jacket with a five-button front, two side pockets and two breast pockets. The women's coats being recalled are style number WOY2443, which has a zip-front and a hood, and style number WOY2444, which has two side pockets and wide knit cuffs at the wrist.
The jackets were sold nationwide from July through December for $225 to $350.
Consumers were advised to stop wearing the jackets and return them to the retailer for a full refund.
