WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A U.S. watchdog agency said Big Ideas Marketing had recalled 8,800 imported Horse-on-a-stick toys due to a possible strangulation hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Big Ideas Marketing of Owings Mills, Md., was recalling the classic toy because the reins on the horse's bridles were long enough to slip over a child's head. The agency has received one report of a child entangled in the horse's bridle.

The toys, imported from China, include a button on the horses ears that, when pressed, makes sound effects of neighing and hooves galloping.

They were sold at Love's Travel Shop and Country stores nationwide from May 2010 through July 2010 for about $6 each.

Consumers were advised to cut the reins and contact Big Ideas Marketing for instructions on how to remove them.

Consumers can call 888-908-8697 for information.
