Milestone television wall mounts recalled

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A Minnesota company is recalling about 131,000 of its television wall mounts because they present a danger of injury to people, a federal agency says.

The flat screen TV wall mounts were imported from China by Milestone AV Technologies LLC of Savage, Minn., and sold nationwide from June 2009 through July 2010.

Joints on the television mount brackets do not fit properly, causing the television to tilt, which could result in the television falling, leading to an injury, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement announcing the voluntary recall.

Two models are involved in the recall: the Sanus Vision Mount model LF2280-B, which cost about $450 each, and the Simplicity model SLF2, sold for about $200.

Consumers were advised to inspect the wall mounts to determine if the elbow joints fit correctly and, if necessary, contact Milestone for a free replacement.

Consumers can call 877-894-6280 for information.
