Campus Cruisers bicycles recalled

WASHINGTON, July 7 (UPI) -- About 100 Campus Cruisers Eastside Fix model bicycles are being recalled because their front forks could fail, a U.S. watchdog agency says.

The bicycles were imported from China by Campus Cruisers LLC of Boulder, Colo., and sold nationwide at independent bicycle shops from March through May for about $450 apiece.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said no injuries had been reported, but four bicycle forks had developed lateral cracks that could result in loss of control or a fall.

Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled bicycles and schedule a free repair with a Campus Cruisers dealer.
