WASHINGTON, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Kikkerland Design folding step stools due to a fall hazard.
About 13,000 Easy-Fold and Easy-Store Step Stools were imported from China by Kikkerland Design Inc. of New York City and sold nationwide from May 2009 through November 2009 for about $40.
The commission said the step stools can crack or break, raising the risk of a fall.
The step stools were sold in sets of two, a 9-inch and 15-inch stool, each with white polka dots decorating the top. The smaller stool has model number ZZ09-GR printed on a sticker on the front. The larger step stool has model number ZZ08-BR on a similar sticker.
Consumers were advised to stop using the step stools immediately and return them to any QVC store for a full refund.
